TEN SECOND PRECISION ANNOUNCES DEAD CARD

Posted by Thomas G on

Ten Second Precision is pleased to announce the DEAD Card. This purpose-built electronic data card gives shooters fast access to the information they need without a phone, app, internet connection, or paired device. The DEAD Card puts ballistic data from 200 to 1,000 yards directly on a sunlight-readable 4.3-inch e-paper display. Distance, Effect, Actual Wind Speed, and Direction are presented in a simple interface designed to eliminate unnecessary mental math and keep the shooter focused on the target.

DATA WHEN YOU NEED IT

The DEAD Card is built around a straightforward process: laser your target, tap your range, adjust your wind, and get your correction. No connection is required. Rather than relying on a phone or external ballistic application, the DEAD Card serves as both a hard data card with adjustable wind and a stage builder. Shooters enter the known come-ups and wind values for their rifle and ammunition combination, giving the DEAD Card the information it needs to extend that data across its range table. The system supports yards or meters and MOA or MRAD, allowing shooters to configure it around their existing rifle and optic. For matches, training, or multi-target engagements, the DEAD Card can build a stage containing up to ten targets. When you enter more than six targets, the stage card automatically switches to portrait mode to maximize the available display area.

BUILT AROUND E-PAPER

At the center of the DEAD Card is a 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 e-paper display with capacitive touch. Unlike a conventional LCD, e-paper remains visible in direct sunlight and requires no power to maintain the displayed image. If the battery dies, the information already on the screen remains visible. For low-light conditions, the DEAD Card incorporates an adjustable warm and cold front light. The system also uses non-volatile memory to retain critical information. Come-ups, wind calls, ballistic profiles, and the current page survive a dead battery, reset, or firmware update. Wake the DEAD Card, and it returns to where you left it.

SIMPLE BY DESIGN

The DEAD Card was designed to minimize the number of controls shooters need to learn or manipulate in the field. Two side keys, capacitive touch, and a power button handle the interface. That simplicity extends to connectivity. The DEAD Card doesn't require a phone, cellular service, an internet connection, or Bluetooth pairing. It uses WiFi exclusively for firmware updates. When an update is initiated, the DEAD Card creates its own local network, allowing the firmware file to be transferred through a browser without connecting the device to the internet.
The DEAD Card was built around a simple idea: give shooters the data they need, when they need it, without adding another layer of technology to manage. No phone, no app, no pairing, and no internet connection—just your ballistic data, adjustable wind corrections, and stage information on a compact, sunlight-readable display. The Ten Second Precision DEAD Card is available now for pre-order for $199, with the first units expected to ship in 4–6 weeks. For shooters looking to replace paper data cards and simplify what happens between ranging a target and making a shot, the DEAD Card puts the information that matters right at your fingertips.
