Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a rangefinder? No – and it doesn’t connect with one. The 200 – 1,000y table is on the unit, and a full stage card is built by tapping the ranges you determine. Nothing to pair, nothing to lose pairing.
Does it need a phone or a signal? Neither, ever. There is no app. The only time Wi-Fi comes up is a firmware update, and that is on the unit’s own network, nothing reaches the internet.
Is it readable in bright sun? That’s the reason it’s on e-paper. No backlight to be washed out and no angle you have to find. A front light is built in for the other end of the day.
What happens if the battery dies? The screen keeps showing whatever was last on it. E-paper holds its image at zero power. Everything is in non-volatile memory, so once it’s charged you will be able to select ranges and make wind corrections again.
Can I use my own ballistics? Yes, you enter come-ups and wind values for your system. The unit extends your curve; it does not override it with someone else’s model.
How do I get updates? Settings – Update. The Unit makes its own network, you push the file from a browser, and a failed update leaves the unit untouched.
Who supports it? Ten Second Precision, directly. Settings – About shows your unit ID and Firmware Version. One photo of that screen is everything Support needs.
